As per EPA the fuel economy generated by this car is 29 mpg in the city and 36 on the highways with the manual transmission. With its automatic transmission the fuel economy generated is 29 in the city and 35 on the highways. The safety features included in the car are stability control, traction control, anti-lock brakes and side curtain bags. In the frontal and side impact protection tests Yaris got four out of five stars. The three and the five door hatchback won five stars in the driver protection and four stars in the passenger protection. In the side impact tests too it won five stars. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety have Toyota Yaris an overall score of “Good” in side impact and frontal tests for all the passengers in the car including the driver.
